"Christian Fletcher is a Western Australian photographer whose practice spans more than three decades. Based in the South West, he is known for landscape photographs that explore the relationship between light, atmosphere and perception. Working across coastal, inland and aerial perspectives, Fletcher creates images that move beyond documentation to evoke experience, memory and the enduring connection between people and place.
Beginning his photographic career in the early 1990s, Fletcher developed a distinctive visual language shaped by close observation of the natural environment and a deep understanding of light. His work ranges from expansive coastal vistas to abstract aerial compositions, each reflecting a sustained engagement with the Australian landscape.
Fletcher’s work has been widely exhibited and recognised through numerous awards, including Australian Professional Landscape Photographer of the Year (2011), Western Australian Professional Landscape Photographer of the Year (2011 and 2014), and the inaugural International Landscape Photographer of the Year (2014). In 2020, he was awarded the City of Busselton Art Award.
Through photography, Fletcher continues to explore moments where light, place and perception align, inviting viewers into a reflective encounter with landscape and the experience of stillness."
