What have I done? Big beautiful challenge.

I have done something, I can’t believe I even agreed to it.  The last time I did this “something" it just about broke me, physically, mentally, spiritually, and possibly even changed the fabric of space time.  Now I’m not one to be dramatic and you can mostly trust everything I tell you, but this challenge I have set myself makes giving birth seem like a relaxing holiday in the Vanuatu......

Now I have your attention I can reveal my challenge is to take one brilliant photo a day for the month of June.  I did the same thing back in August last year.  Ok giving birth hurts more and it is way more stressful but you get it over and done with in less than 24 hours.  This challenge is going on for thirty days.  I take this very seriously and the pressure I put on myself  is part of who I am.  I have to beat this challenge like Mike Tyson scrambles his eggs.  I like to win, and in the immortal words of Ricky Bobby, “if you ain’t first, your last”.  (If you haven’t watched Talladega Nights I suggest you do, my wife hated it)
So I am going to be busy.  Of course I am joking around about the hardship, it is actually a great time of year to explore our region.  The weather is so dramatic, the skies are incredible and the coast is raging.  It is what I love about the south west.  It’s raw and wild, like a vegans lunch!
In August it is my 60th birthday.  I know, I know, you thought I was much younger.  Mentally I just left high school and physically I wish I just left high school.  We are celebrating by going on a massive cruise-liner.  I think they call it the float and bloat.  The good thing is, at some point everyone gets gastro so you lose the pounds faster than you can find a toilet.  Man, I am going to be so skinny if I survive, I haven’t even factored in hitting an iceberg either.  Hopefully most will have melted by the time they make it to Vanuatu!  I am excited to make a body of new images focusing on all aspects of the cruise.  A sort of summary of shared experiences with the other 2600 people on board.  An intimate look of every day life on the open ocean.  I may have to ask what they do with mutineers ?

Well that is about it for this month.  Make sure you go to my Instagram account to follow along for June.  I will need words of encouragement to keep me going.  See you in the gallery some time!
