"This image of Lake MacLeod was taken last year during a shoot of the salt ponds between Carnarvon and Port Hedland. Lake MacLeod covers an area of around 1500 square kilometres. To see it you really need to hire a helicopter. I did this and survived to tell the tale. I am always interested in the pilot when I fly in helicopters, trying to gage their level of experience. On this occasion I was greeted by a relatively young fellow who looked as though he recently got his drivers licence. I was fine with it until he took off and it wasn't smooth sailing. I was thinking, has this dude got Parkinsons or is it his flying. He blamed it on the wind coming around the hanger but I wasn't convinced he was completely all over this gig. I was going to do two flights but figured I would be too scared to fly with him again so I better make the most of the praying time I had. Landing was another interesting experience and that night I shouted myself to several beers! I commend him for getting me back in one piece physically, still working through the mental pieces!"
A select number of photographs are released as one of ones and framed to Christian Fletcher's specifications. The frame, size and price displayed are the only option for this particular image and have been determined to showcase the photograph.
