Exclusive limited edition 1/1

132 x 132cm Canson Pro Art canvas with black shadow line frame

"Since 2010 I have been aware of the salt ponds in Karratha.  This year I had the opportunity to gain access and make some images.  It was the end of March and the storms every morning and afternoon were incredible.  On this occasion I was being escorted around the site and was getting ready to take some images in the early morning light.  I hadn’t stepped more than a metre from the car door when a call came over the radio, Code Red!  I was called back into the car and had to wait as there was lightning in the area.  This was absolute torture as the sky was incredible.  Feeling a bit of frustration I asked whether my guide could turn the car in the direction of the sunrise so I could shoot out of the window.  That seemed to be ok, even though in theory you are supposed to stay put and not move the car until the all clear. So the car became my tripod and I managed to get the shots I was hoping to get.  This was one of my favourites.  The yellow and black striped stairs leading down to the water reminded me of a rock pool found at numerous beaches in Sydney.  Not that you would swim in these ponds but I imagine floating in the very salty water would be great fun."

A select number of photographs are released as one of ones and framed to Christian Fletcher's specifications. The frame, size and price displayed are the only option for this particular image and have been determined to showcase the photograph.

All limited editions will be signed and issued with a certificate of authenticity.
