October was a month of being lazy - don’t tell my wife

October has gone, it was cold and wet.  I don’t even know why we need October.  I spent the first week recovering from a serious man flu that I got during the Margaret River Region Open Studios event.  I lost my voice and still to this day, I can’t reach high notes.  I have been getting singing lessons but now it seems my hopes of replacing Pavarotti could be lost forever.  I have been putting on weight to match his girth but now I might need to get on some Ozempic!  Isn’t that what all the “stars” take?

October was a month of being lazy, don’t tell my wife.  The exhibition we have during Open Studios takes a lot of energy and I was as empty as a millennials bank account.  Thank god it’s November, the month my wife was born.  Of course she doesn’t have a birthday, she has a birthmonth.  I will be spending weeks trying to find her the perfect present.  But what do you get the girl that has the best catch in town?  Of course I say that in jest............. or do I???

The sun is finally starting to show itself but last week, it is actually raining. I have given up trying to predict the weather and will instead concentrate on creating lots of new work for the lead up to Christmas.  I can’t believe the year is almost up and we survived another one.  The media loves to tell us we are on the brink of this and the end of that but what they say never comes to pass. It does however sell newspapers and advertising.  I think my aim for next year will be to get off social media, turn off the news and spend my last twenty or thirty years being as creative as I can. 

Next year, I want to spend a bit of time on the South Coast as there is so much to see down there.  Places like Betty’s Beach and Waychinicup are remarkable and still relatively unknown to most.  Expect some remarkable imagery from there soon, hopefully!!!

Anyway thanks for staying till the end, I will check in next month and let you know if I impressed my wife with her birthmonth gifts!  I wonder if she would like to learn guitar with a Fender Custom Shop Vintage 1959 Stratocaster? I’m sure she would.  Oh look, they have one in stock!!!!
