Perth, Western Australia is an underrated city. I grew up in the working class suburb of Coolbellup where there were lots of cars tearing up the bitumen and a few burnt out wrecks on unwatered lawns. "Coobie" is an up and coming suburb now, like much of Perth. It's matured. Like a good red wine, it improves with age (some areas might be a little corked but that's part of the charm). The Swan River makes Perth a beautiful city. I remember balmy nights dragging a prawn net around in it, never wanting to be the one on the deep end! Good memories for me, but not for the prawns!
