MRROS 'Art Is' Collaborative Exhibition

As a photographer, I often work in a solo manner. It is easy to head off, usually at the crack of dawn in pursuit of the best shot. Also there is no-one to fight with over where the best lemon slice is.  There is no competition, it is the Miami Bakehouse without a doubt!

But collaboration is inspiring. My 'Art Is' exhibition is my wife's brilliant idea, she is really the brains behind the business. It is now in its third year, and it is a story of the fusion of different art forms coming together in harmony.

In this exhibition, my photographs serve as a catalyst for local artists of various genres to take inspiration and interpret it through their unique perspective.

This year we have all new artists involved and one is Sandy Winkle, whose name resonates with tactile creativity. Sandy chose this gothic Australian bush image for her catalyst. Known for her colourful and textured woven baskets, Sandy is a versatile artist who transitions between painting, drawing, photography and mosaics in her bushland studio. I can't wait to see what she will create with inspiration from this photograph.  She is even going to this location to collect sticks for her creation.
