MRROS Collaborative Exhibition - 10th - 25th September

We are super excited to announce a new exhibition that I am hosting over the Margaret River Region Open Studios (MRROS). I have invited 15 local artists to join me in a collaborative exhibition where each artist will interpret one of my images in their own style and way.

My original photograph and inspired artwork will hang side by side in what promises to be an amazing, diverse and awe inspiring exhibition, celebrating art in all its glorious forms.

My 15 photographs are all new work and are all one of one limited editions.

The exhibition runs over the MRROS event from Saturday 10th to Sunday 25th September.

There is a diverse mix of artists from oil painters to felters, graffiti art to sculpture, acrylics to jewellery, glass sculpture to sketching. It will be wonderful to see how each artist chooses to interpret my work.

This exhibition has really challenged me and kept me awake at night. I've felt under pressure to create work that suits each individual artist while keeping true to myself and my style. As a photographer I am mostly creating literal depictions of a scene. There are opportunities to darken or lighten the image, to alter colour and contrast but the end result still looks like a photograph. To have 15 artists interpret my work in a way I cannot is enlightening. From what I have seen so far it is obvious the artist style shows through in their work. I am looking at one of my scenes but it has been rendered in such a different way. It is humbling and deeply satisfying to witness the hand of an artist at work, creating an extension of what I originally captured and adding something completely new and exciting. It is going to be an amazing exhibition
